Dzogchen
This is a Tibetan Buddhist Tradition. They are known for producing The Rainbow Body. It is also called The Way of Perfection.
To the Tibetans, Self-Liberation represents the very essence of the tradition known to them as Dzogchen. In Tibet is revered as the highest and most esoteric teaching of the Buddha.
This is understood to be accessed only through a contemplative state of pure awareness or Rigpa, which lies beyond the mind and its mundane operations: those that constitute Samsara.
Dzogchen uses the image of a mirror which has the capacity to reflect whatever is in front of it, but is not obscured by it. “Melong” is a Tibetan term that means "mirror", "looking glass". The melong is a polyvalent symbol, divine attribute, and quality of the enlightened mindstream or bodhicitta in Dzogchen. The mirror always remains the same.
When Dzogchen is seen through the lens of Gnosticism we discover that Sophia is the mirror and She is Who is reflected in the mirror. She is the basis of all that we project onto Her.
We human beings, partaking in the Divine Essence, have the ability to shape, twist, manipulate our individual reality. We are performing a play in front of a Divine Mirror for our own education.
Most human beings do this completely unconsciously – they are under the control of their unconscious. This has been scientifically proven, in other words, that most people’s thoughts, words, actions, are controlled 90% by their unconscious minds. Since the world is a mirror, therefore, the majority of people are seeing the contents of their unconscious minds. And most people have all sorts of programming, various personalities (masks if you will), traumas, and unresolved conflicts (do I believe in God or not, do I like my parents or not, do I like my country or not), floating around in their unconscious.
Aleister Crowley wrote,
“Since all things are God, in all things thou seest just so much of God as thy capacity affordeth thee.”
Adi Da Samraj (a.k.a. Bubba Free John) taught that one should look at the world “as the condition of existence”. In other words, as we observe “reality” we are seeing God.
Some experts in Gnosticism state that the Demiurge (Yaldaboath) created a copy of the true Earth and we are living in a simulation of the true Earth. I disagree in the sense that we are here on the real Earth our only problem is that due to our unconscious projections we are viewing and experiencing a twisted and confusing reality.
The appearances we perceive are reflections in the mirror of the mind. They are manifestations of the mind. Manifestations come and go. They are recognized as just reflections, or 'illusions', and we quiet our mind chatter so that we may begin to perceive Sophia, the true Earth.
When ordinarily we meet a fellow human being, it is very rare that we perceive them as a god or goddess. We project all our thoughts and feelings about men and women upon them, that we cannot experience them in their Divinity.
As ordinary beings on this earth, our awareness identifies itself with the manifestations and takes them to be real. All this is projected against the mirror that is Sophia – who only gives us what we imagine the world to be in our minds.
Most famously in Dzogchen is the concept of the “Rainbow Body” or “Light Body”. There have been over 160,000 recorded examples of beings who have achieved the “Rainbow Body”. There are various levels of the Rainbow Body, with the very highest being exactly like the experience of Jesus Christ, in other words, being able to freely roam the world in the blink of an eye and to take form at will.
The Light Body is not the result of visualization. Visualizations are the products of the mind. But the Dzogchen practitioner is in a state beyond the mind. The vision that arises spontaneously is a manifestation of what is already primordially present in the Natural State. It simply manifests. When you are free from imaginations (unconscious projections and neurosis) you can perceive the Natural State of the Earth, the Garden of Eden, however this time as a fully awakened God or Goddess.
As human beings we are both Shiva, permanent, passive consciousness and Shakti, dynamic consciousness. Shiva is the immobile center, Shakti is like a reflection of Shiva bringing forth the manifestation and creation of the cosmos. The Rainbow Body, which is a pure light manifestation, is not material, but it can appear to be so since it can act on all the senses of a sentient being simultaneously. The Light Body can be perceived only by the Aryas (highly realized beings). Ordinary beings cannot see or hear this manifestation. Only when the Realized being manifests in a visible, physical manifestation, can he or she be seen by human beings.
There exists a secret teaching in Esoteric Christianity that Mary Magdalene was a “seer”. In other words, she could perceive the Light Body of Jesus Christ. Gradually, she helped the Apostles to “see” Christ. In short, Mary Magdalene was the founder of Christianity and the Shakti to Jesus’ Shiva!
